Detroit National Association of Black Journalists: 40th Anniversary!

Founded on Dec. 1, 1982, the chapter will recognize and celebrate the founding members and those who’ve had deep ties to the organization for 40 years.

In 2022, Detroit NABJ will have events to commemorate the 40th anniversary.

The 40th Anniversary chairs are Nicole Avery Nichols, editor-in-chief of Chalkbeat, and Felecia D. Henderson, director of cultural competency for the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education. Chapter members Randye Bullock and Talitha Johnson serve as committee senior advisors.
